Ferrari has cleared the air in the run-up to the Qatar Grand Prix. Friction had arisen between drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz after the previous Formula 1 race in Las Vegas.
Leclerc then audibly expressed his frustrations on the radio during an overtaking manoeuvre by Sainz just after his second pit stop.
“It was necessary to clear the air and we did that,” said Leclerc. “Things are good between us again and I never doubted that for a moment, because I have always had a good relationship with Carlos. It has not gone exactly as we wanted this season and then we also spoke about it.”
Sainz agreed with his teammate’s version. “We have talked, conclusions have been drawn and now we are ready for the last two races of the season,” said the Spaniard, who will leave Ferrari after this season and move to Williams.
